FAA Improving Airmen Certificate Testing
New test procedures as of January 20/2020

Walk-in testing is no longer authorized as per FAA Requirements

Create a profile on IACRA. Once complete you will be issued an FTN number.

​UAS PILOTS ONLY may immediately apply for the Remote Pilot Certificate via IACRA. ​

Create a profile on PSI Exams.

Use the FTN number provided by IACRA from above step when creating your PSI Exam profile.

If entered correctly you will then be able to schedule the exam.

Pay for the exam.

Arrive early for the exam.

There is a 60 minute grace period.

If you arrive after the 60 minute grace period you will be required to reschedule the exam online.

Present the proctor with the required photo ID and instructor endorsement (if needed).

Passing the exam

Test results are immediately sent to the FAA.

Failing
-
UAS Students have to wait 14 days before retaking the exam.​

Pilots are required to meet with their Instructors and get a new endorsement.

Notice: New Scheduling System and Website
On Monday, January 13, 2020, PSI Services LLC will close this website and replace it with a new FAA Airman Knowledge Test (AKT) registration site that includes online scheduling. Registration and test delivery will be temporarily unavailable during implementation of new systems. Currently, AKT maybe be scheduled and delivered up to 20:00 PST on Friday January 10, 2020. Scheduling and test delivery via the new system will begin 08:00 EST on Monday, January 20, 2020. Click here for more upcoming changes to the FAA AKT program.

Airman Certificate Testing Service (ACTS)
The Airman Testing Standards Branch recently awarded a new airman knowledge testing contract called the Airman Certificate Testing Service (ACTS). The ACTS contract provides a comprehensive, best practices approach to enhance the overall quality of FAA Airman Knowledge Testing. The ACTS vendor supports the FAA in development, assessment, maintenance, and delivery of airman knowledge tests. The vendor also enhances knowledge test items, knowledge tests, and supplementary material with automated state-of-the-art technology and academic expertise.
